The Chicken Lamps continue Sebastian Errazuriz’s series of functional sculptures with real taxidermy. His first Duck Lamp breathed new life into an old taxidermy piece he found in a museum's trash, with a broken neck. The Duck Lamp quickly became an iconic classic. With his Chicken Lamps, Sebastian continues to explore the border between the sculptural and functional aspects of both art and design.

The artist reflects on his experience during the creative process of his bird pieces: 'I was initially concerned about the public's reaction when I first introduced the Duck Lamp, but I felt compelled to create it. When exhibited the piece seemed to evoke subconscious and complex emotions. It felt beautiful, unsettling, and humorous all at once.'
